5 reasons non-numbers people get this one

  1. You see it before you do itThe picture book shows each step with drawings and real-life examples. Quick and fun to read.
  2. One number to rememberYour weekly spending allowance. When the wallet is empty, it's empty until refill day.
  3. Yellow boxes, no formulasType your pay, bills and savings into the yellow boxes. The workbook does all the math.
  4. Jars for the surprisesGifts, clothes, haircuts. A small amount goes into a jar each week, so they stop wrecking your budget.
  5. A plan for your first four weeksThe book ends with exactly what to do in week one, two, three and four.

How it works

  1. Pay yourself first. On payday, at least 10% goes to savings before anything else.
  2. Cover your bills. Everything that comes out on its own, set up once.
  3. Get your weekly spending allowance: a set amount for everything else, like groceries, eating out, coffee and fun. It refills the same day every week.

When the wallet is empty, it's empty until refill day.

Who made it

I'm Steve. I worked at two of Canada's big banks, then spent more than ten years as a mortgage broker, going through people's bank and credit card statements at their kitchen tables. A lot of them said the same thing: "I had no idea." This is the method I showed them, and the one I ran myself.
