5 reasons people who quit budgeting stick with this one

  1. Three steps, not thirty categoriesSavings first, bills on autopilot, one weekly spending allowance for everything else. That is the whole method.
  2. You stop tracking every dollarYou only watch one number: what is left in this week's wallet. When it is empty, you wait for refill day.
  3. Nothing to fix every SundayThere is no feed to clean up and no transactions to sort. Your bills are set once and left alone.
  4. It is a picture book, not a textbook54 pages with real-life examples. Quick and fun to read.
  5. You pay onceA one-time digital download. No subscription to cancel later.

How it works

  1. Pay yourself first. On payday, at least 10% goes to savings before anything else.
  2. Cover your bills. Everything that comes out on its own, set up once.
  3. Get your weekly spending allowance: a set amount for everything else, like groceries, eating out, coffee and fun. It refills the same day every week.

When the wallet is empty, it's empty until refill day.

Who made it

I'm Steve. I worked at two of Canada's big banks, then spent more than ten years as a mortgage broker, going through people's bank and credit card statements at their kitchen tables. A lot of them said the same thing: "I had no idea." This is the method I showed them, and the one I ran myself.
